Surrogacy Using Your Own Eggs or a Known Donor

As we discussed, not using an egg donor from an agency can often save you $10,000 to $20,000 or more. But if you are using eggs over the age of 35, it might take you longer to achieve pregnancy.

A 2010 study from the Center for Disease Control on IVF success rates reports that 41.5% of women younger than 35 years of age had a live birth resulting from an embryo transfer. This is compared to 31.9% for women 35-37, 22.1% for women 38-40, 12.4% for women 41-42, and finally 5% for women 43-44.

Below is an estimate in which we include the costs to complete your surrogacy process from medical and psychological screening, to legal documentation and proceedings, to surrogates fees, insurance, medications and more.

If your surrogate got pregnant on the first attempt, using your own eggs, your costs would range between $60,000 to $100,000 on average, and based on a singleton pregnancy.

There are several factors that will impact your total cost of surrogacy. Probably the most significant is egg age. Whether you are using your own eggs, or those of an egg donor, your odds for success tend to reduce with increases in age.

Those of our clients using an egg donor 30 years or younger, get pregnant on the first attempt approximately 65% of the time, and then by the second attempt the success rates increase to about 75% , and by the third attempt around 90% success.

Below is an estimate in which we include the costs to complete your surrogacy process from medical and psychological screening, to legal documentation and proceedings, to surrogates fees, insurance, medications and more.

If your surrogate got pregnant on the first attempt, using an egg donor, your costs would range between $75,000 to $110,000 on average, and based on a singleton pregnancy.
